Rare opportunity to join an established group operating the ultimate affordable speed-machine, a Mooney 201 (M20J). The group have owned and operated HB since almost new. We have 1/11th share in this incredible aircraft available, and the new shareholder will benefit from a friendly group of Mooney enthusiasts, with a guaranteed peak season pre-booking allowance, great availability across the year, and a professionally run and managed group.
We maintain the aircraft to the highest standards, ensuring the aircraft is fully funded for normal Engine and Propeller overhauls, as well as all scheduled and most unscheduled maintenance. We started accruing for future Paint and Interior. Unlike many other groups, we do not rely on cash-calls or new members for anything that is needed to run and maintain the aircraft.
The aircraft has recently had a zero-time engine overhaul, and has approximately 100 hours on the new engine since April 2025. An MT Composite 3-blade prop (widely regarded as the best performing propeller that can be fitted) was added at the same time in the pursuit of speed and climb performance.
Mooney is renowned for their obsession with speed and aerodynamic efficiency. Capable of cruising at over 160 KTAS on around 12 USG/Hour she is a superbly equipped IFR tourer easily reaching anywhere in Europe in a day.
HB has benefited from extensive avionics upgrades, with GTN750 touch-screen navigator, G5 EFIS, GNC500 digital autopilot with Yaw Damper, and GNC255 2nd NAV/COM, and GTX345 ADSB in-out transponder. All databases including approach plates are kept up to date.
The aircraft has travelled extensively, from the Fjords of Norway to the far-east of Europe, and recently toured Spain and Portugal. She is just back from a week-long tour of France, Corsica, Sardinia, and Sicily. This is a serious go-places machine that’s just as happy popping to Le Touquet for lunch in under an hour as it is heading for a long weekend in La Rochelle or a week on the French Riviera.
